Swift Specialist Recruitment are currently seeking a Customs Clerk for one of our well established forwarding agents based in Liverpool.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To Co-ordinate Import and Export activities, conforming to HM Revenue & Customs regulations
- Liaise with Customs legal counsel to check controls and licensing requirements
- Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimising cost
- Liaise with, customers, suppliers, necessary agents and customs authorities to address any issues/questions arising from business activities
- High volumes of data entry on spreadsheets
Skills, Experience And Competencies
- Working experience of Exports/Imports & Customs Compliance and regulations (at least 6 months experience in the UK)
- Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with particular focus on UK & EU imports
- Right to work in the UK
- Working knowledge of the CDS system both Imports and Exports
- Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel and other Ms packages
