Job Opportunity: Senior Finance Business Partner
Location: Northamptonshire (Fully Remote)
Contract Type: 3 Month Contract
Salary: £535 per day

We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a local authority in Northamptonshire. Whilst it would be beneficial to be able to be on site when required, fully remote candidates will be considered for the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the whole capital programme for NNC: Take charge of overseeing the entirety of the capital programme for Northamptonshire County Council, ensuring efficient allocation and utilisation of resources.
- Year-end accounting for capital programme and funding: Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of year-end accounting tasks related to the capital programme and its funding.
- Line Management of 1 Finance Business Partner: Provide leadership and guidance to a team member, fostering their professional development and ensuring the team's success.
- Development of ERPG capital forecasting tool: Spearhead the development of an ERPG capital forecasting tool, and facilitate its rollout to budget managers, providing necessary training and support.
- Providing financial support to key capital projects: Offer strategic financial guidance and support to key capital projects, ensuring their financial viability and success.
- Being part of Strategic FBP's management team: Collaborate with the Strategic Finance Business Partner's management team to drive organisational goals and initiatives.
- Completion of statutory capital returns: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements by completing necessary capital returns accurately and within deadlines.
- Monitoring of capital income streams: Keep a close eye on capital income streams, identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
- Supporting consolidation of capital balances and processes: Assist in the consolidation of capital balances and processes inherited from legacy councils, ensuring smooth integration and adherence to best practices.
Requirements:
- CCAB or equivalent qualified
- Proven experience in finance, preferably within a local authority or public sector environment.
- Strong understanding of capital programme management, accounting principles, and financial forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial forecasting tools.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a drive for continuous improvement.
