Procurement Manager

As a procurement manager, you'll be directly involved in the sourcing and purchasing of products and services, such as:

  • Components to make and assemble products for sale
  • Products to service our customer's demand
  • Goods and services for use by the company

Your role will involve sourcing suppliers, SLA drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process. You'll also deal with other factors such as sustainability and risk management.

Key Responsibilities for a Procurement Manager:

  • Forecast levels of demand for components and products.
  • Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
  • Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors.
  • Negotiate and agree service level agreements, monitoring the quality of service provided.
  • Keep service level agreement files and use them as reference for the future.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Manage, motivate and train a team of procurement staff.
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal teams such as supply chain, planning and sales.
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded.
  • Undertake value for money, supplier reviews of existing contracts and arrangements.
  • Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services.
  • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar Procurement Management role.
  • Experience in the FMCG Industry.
  • Excellent working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Proven statistical, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Day-to-day experience within SAP will be advantageous.
  • Some Experience in Change Management / Lean Techniques will be advantageous.
