Sheridan Maine is excited to partner with a dynamic and established organisation in Dorset that is experiencing significant growth. They are seeking an Operationally minded Finance Director to join and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and financial performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader to make a substantial impact and progress to be CFO in the next few years.

As Finance Director, you will report to the CEO and work alongside the Senior Leadership Team, leading a large finance team. This role is critical not only for overseeing financial operations but also fostering a strong and engaging culture within the finance department. Your leadership and guidance will be essential in harnessing the team's potential and instilling a true "can-do" mindset that aligns with the organisation's ambitious goals and values.

As Finance Director, your core areas of responsibility include:

  • Management of the operational finance team, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to support operational decisions.
  • Drive efficiency in the finance function through streamlined processes and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and implement long-term financial strategies that enhance both operational and financial performance.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and proactively address risks to drive sustainable growth.
  • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial reports with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Motivate and guide the finance team by fostering an environment of open communication and collaboration, ensuring that each member feels valued and actively contributes to the organisation's success.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) is essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the gravitas to work closely with the board and SLT.
  • Significant experience in an operational senior finance role within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Retail sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and fostering collaboration across the organisation.

This role will have flexibility however is based on site, Benefits package includes; Annual Bonus, Private Medical and Life Assurance.
