About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Platform Team, as a Data Analyst. You will oversee the entire data analysis process, including data collection, configuration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and communicating findings for projects.As a Data Analyst, you will work in the Data Team and report to the Data Architect. The Data team provides the Data Management and Governance for all data held on the platform. The Data Analyst role involves includes Data Analysis, Scoping, Metadata Management, Reference Data Management, Data Quality Management and Data Mapping Governance. We are looking for you to take the next step in their career and join us as a Data Analyst. Data Management is a broad discipline, so we are looking for candidates from multiple backgrounds including Data Analysis, Data Stewardship, Data Governance, Data Design or Data Governance.

  • Combine both business and data analysis skills to capture data-centric requirements and data definitions, working with technical solution and project delivery teams.
  • Document data requirements that address data sources, data provenance, data scope and data quality.
  • Profile large and complex data sets using SQL or other analytical tools to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Identify data quality issues, data scope gaps or data privacy issues within all data sets and ensure that these issues are all addressed.
  • Investigate the cause of data quality issues and initiate the most appropriate resolution.
  • Document data mappings to identify the attributes of value that will be used in reporting layers and capture any data joins, cleansing, transformations, or calculations required.
  • Work closely with the Data Designers to ensure that the data models incorporate all the data concepts.
  • Contribute to data management forums to help establish and improve data standards and efficient ways of working.
  • Enforce data management best practices, standards and processes?.

What you'll need to have

  • Must be knowledgeable in SQL, essential for querying databases and managing large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Databricks and Azure Synapse.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud resources.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to work collaboratively across multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience with metadata, master data and reference data management
  • Conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling, data lineage/data flow mapping and data quality.
  • Familiar with ETL, pipelines and data loading systems.
  • Data protection, security, and governance awareness.
  • Desirable to have Retail, Pharmacy, Supply Chain and Product data domain experience.
  • Must have a strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

It would be great if you also have

  • Knowledge of Data Bricks will be an advantage.
  • Be comfortable with at least one programming language like Python.
  • Knowledge of Agile processes such as Scrum.
