Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Service Department in the repair and maintenance of hire fleet and customers' equipment.
  2. Ensure a high quality of service and equipment to achieve complete customer satisfaction.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be required to

  • Carry out planned service and maintenance work on both hire fleet and customers' equipment.
  • Perform fault location, diagnosis, and rectification on hire fleet and customers' equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for hire and manage installation and disconnection of equipment on site (including synchronizing where appropriate).
  • Install and commission power to temporary site accommodation (wiring in where appropriate).
  • Load and unload vehicles as necessary.
  • Participate in the call-out rota system.
  • Maintain tidy work areas through general housekeeping.
  • Complete and submit all company paperwork as per procedure.
  • Safeguard all Company assets; ensure nothing leaves the depot without correct paperwork.
  • Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of company vehicles or any occasional loan vehicles.
  • Promote teamwork and co-operation across the Generator Power Group of Companies.
  • Treat all employees and customers professionally and with respect.
  • Act in the best interests of the Generator Power Group of Companies.
  • Follow safe working practices and adhere to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental guidelines (ISO 9001:14001 and OHSAS 18001).
  • Contribute proactively to the company's continuous improvement policy.
  • Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • GCSE High School or equivalent
  • Any Plant/Mechanical Engineering qualifications
  • Fork Lift Truck Licence (desired but training can be provided)
  • NVQs or apprenticeship qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Experience with generators/plant equipment/heavy engineering (or similar)
