Our client is a very reputable Design and Build Main Contractor who work on a broad portfolio of projects. Some of these projects include, large scale regeneration works, high end residential, hotel, retail and leisure schemes. They also cover a lot of commercial and high end fit out projects. They are now looking for an Area Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will need to manage and direct all aspects of construction operations, to include people, functions, and teams responsible for completing production and commercial projects. You will also need a portfolio of tendering and winning new work.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the regional business strategy for the Build division aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Lead and inspire your team to achieve commercial growth and expand our market share whilst maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Design and implement a strategy that identifies and capitalises on market opportunities, ensuring profitability and market share expansion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and develop building solutions that meet our customer's needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and community representatives, to enhance business development.
Skills And Experience
- Experience of delivering several large projects (£10m +)
- Experience in multiple forms of contract
- Relationships with clients/consultants and suppliers which will raise the profile of the business and lead to new opportunities.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal and people management skills are essential
- Proactive, diligent, able and willing to think ahead
- Commercial awareness: understanding and ability to make profit whilst retaining relationships and company values
