Our client that is headquartered in the Bromsgrove area is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team due to continued business growth.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Complete and review required design calculations around, Heat loss & Gain, Airflow calculations, Gas Designs, Duct Sizing, LEV Design, Electrical Design, and more.
  • Provide technical queries to clients when required.
  • Understand and define the project scope specifically in a Mechanical / Electrical / M&E capacity.
  • Reviewing, understanding, and defining the scope of works for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls.
  • Issue enquires / obtain prices for component items.
  • Managing the estimate of a project, ensure all items are included to the correct client scope in accordance with the project specific contract. Including ensuring that the opening profit margin is in excess of the agreed minimum business % value.
  • Complete initial/ final design calculations
  • Check General Arrangement drawings before internal sign off.
  • Understand the H&S requirements of a project to ensure it is costed and designed in accordance with CDM regulations and is practical to install on site.
  • Complete & review Design Hazard & Risk Assessments.
  • Check Commissioning Results against designs and assist with report preparation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced with MS products, Office, Excel, Outlook & Projects.
  • Autocad 2D Level 2 or above.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General & Construction certificate.
  • HVAC knowledge.
  • 10+ years of experience within the Utilities or Construction sectors.
