We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Management Accountant to join the team and support our transformation here at Speke, Liverpool.

Do you have the expertise and determination that is needed by the worlds largest outsourced manufacturer of animal health products?

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance you will prepare, analyse and interpret information to facilitate the most efficient and effective running of the business. You will manage the company accounts, ensuring the control of company assets and compliance with cooperate, local and fiscal requirements. As the site Management Accountant you will be a trusted advisor and lead on communication to employees outside of the finance team.

What you will do as our Management Accountant:

  • Key member of the finance team supporting wide ranging month end tasks including cost centre review, Accruals, Prepayments and understanding variances to plan
  • Responsible for cost centre reporting and meeting with cost centre managers to understand variances to plan and update monthly rolling forecasts
  • Work with supply chain and production teams to update weekly variance report for all manufacturing and be able to explain variances
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly cashflow forecast
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT return
  • Assist with annual update of product costing
  • Investigate manufacturing variances as required and be able to work with manufacturing , IT and supply chain to understand differences and drive changes to process where required
  • Assist in the business planning processes, developing site goals, and objectives and ensuring focus on critical issues. This ranges from the 3-year strategic review to the more detailed 12 month plan and incorporates; demand requirements, comparisons with current and future capabilities, headcount, capital and expense requirements etc.
  • Report all aspects of business performance to Site and Corporate management. Forecasting financial performance eg monthly, quarterly.
  • Take responsibility for the financial control of all Company assets, including inventory and fixed assets etc. Ensure no major financial control misses.
  • Work with audit teams to respond to audit queries on a timely manner

What do we need from you?

  • Degree qualified
  • Relevant financial qualification
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong stakeholder management skill
