SEND Manager

Posted by Asend Limited.

ASEND is a highly specialist SEND company, providing consultancy, training, recruitment and tuition. ASEND is run by SEND education experts with long experience of working in schools, charities and local authorities.

One of the key areas of our support for young people and their families is our specialist, SEND-focused Tuition. We have a diverse team of tutors providing home or local tuition for children with SEND who don't have a school place, across several London boroughs and Home Counties. Our tutors support students back into education, by filling in gaps academically and supporting their mental health and well-being. We are not a 'typical' Tutor agency - everything we do stems from our deep expertise in and passion for SEND - we work closely with families and local authorities to find perfect matches for young people, to support their development as well as possible and prepare them for their next steps; whether it is to go to a new school, return to their school or become an independent adult.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate SEND specialist teacher to join our team as SEND Manager and manage our fantastic Tutor team. The SEND Manager will work with tutors, young people, families, and other stakeholders to ensure that the highest standards are maintained and that our young people make great progress and transition successfully back to school.

ASEND children and families always come first and everything we do is in the interests of the pupils for whom we work. You'll have a particular responsibility for embodying and promoting this ASEND culture throughout our team. The SEND manager will support ASEND's leaders and will advocate our low arousal and positive behaviour approach.

This a superb opportunity for a middle or senior leader with a background in and passion for SEND to impact on services throughout the region. You'll need to have QTS and experience of working at a senior level in a school or local authority, and of providing effective leadership within the SEN field. You'll be people-focused with the ability to lead and motivate, but also have a well-organised and rational approach to your work and management style. Cross-departmental work will be a part of the role where your expertise will be part of selecting the right tutors to support our pupils. SEN Teachers with experience of working in special schools are especially welcomed to apply.

SEN managers can often do some work from home, but this job requires a driver who is happy and prepared to travel to different areas, attend regular team days and travel around London and the home counties to support families and tutors. Flexible working hours are possible.

If you feel that you have the right skills and experience we'd love to see your application.
