Nursery Manager
- Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (NE15)
- Salary: £14-£15 per hour based on experience.
- Hours: Full-time position - 40 hours per week across 5 days.
- Start Date: Immediate/As soon as possible
Job Overview:
As a Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young minds. You'll lead a dedicated team, fostering children's development in inspiring environments. Your passion for early childhood education and exceptional leadership skills will be essential in creating a nurturing and enriching experience for both children and staff. This is a very supportive role with a Senior Manager in role across two nurseries.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- ead and manage a highly motivated and professional team.
- To ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
- Create a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies and procedures, including child protection issues and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and external agencies.
2. Childcare and Education:
- Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum, taking responsibility for the planning to ensure each child is working towards the early learning goals.
- To organise and participate in the key person system.
- Foster a love for learning through creative and engaging activities.
- Promote a safe and stimulating environment.
3. Staff Development:
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to staff.
- Conduct staff appraisals and address any concerns/staff training needs.
- Encourage continuous professional development.
4. Parent and Community Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents and families.
- Organize parent meetings, events, and workshops.
- Collaborate with local community resources.
5. Financial Management:
- To support with the management of budgets, resources, and financial planning.
- Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
- Experience in a leadership role within an early-years setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
- Passion for child development and education.
