Salary: GRADE 3 - £25,545 - £27,803 p.a. + Benefits package

Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week

Schedule: 8:45 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45 am – 4.30 pm Friday

ICT Help Desk Advisor - The Role:

The successful candidate will administer the in-house ICT Help Desk, providing first line ICT Support to council staff and elected councillors. They will record and managing the life-cycle of all ICT incidents, identifying the resolution path for each inquiry and escalating tickets to second line support as appropriate, and provide administrative support to the ICT service.

ICT Help Desk Advisor - Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a single point of contact for users on all IT issues to enable operational problems to be resolved as quickly as possible.
  • Make an initial assessment of the request and attempt to resolve the issue at the first point of contact.
  • Support and assist in the ongoing development, enhancement and administration of the Council's Corporate Systems.

ICT Help Desk Advisor - You:

  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs (or equivalent) including grade A – C in English and Maths
  • Demonstratable understanding of Microsoft Office Products including Microsoft 365
  • Experience in a Customer-facing role where keyboard skills have been utilised daily
  • Will be able to acquire "technical know-how" as appropriate
  • Good understanding of issues affecting the travelling community
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to follow customer queries through to their completion is essential
  • Experience of working within an ICT Help Desk environment is desirable
