Assembly Technician
Term: 6 months
Rate: £22.20ph
Shift: 39 hours a week late shift Monday to Thursday 15:00 to 00:00 Friday: 12:00 to 17:00
Location: Grovebury Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4TB
The manufacturing of a wide variety of aircraft interiors products within a low batch high mix manufacturing environment. The role will be working within a small dynamic team responsible for the assembly of spares components to meet required quality standards and satisfy customer demand in a busy Aerospace manufacturing facility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ability to use a wide range of productions methods using, hand tools, motorised equipment, aerospace standard solvents and adhesives and application of various fasteners for the assembly of a wide variety of components.
- Experienced in working with a wide range of materials such as (but not limited to) alloys, steels, plastics, fabrics and leathers.
- Able to read and understand aerospace standard drawings and relevant engineering documentation used to ensure manufacturing adherence is maintained.
- Maintain the traceability of all components and assembled parts.
- Packaging of finished goods in line with industry standards for road, sea and air cargo.
- Understands and fully complies with all company health and safety policies.
- Always demonstrates a good duty of care and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Shows a commitment to quality.
- Help maintain satisfactory business delivery and quality targets.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and drive efficiency.
- Willing to cross train in other relevant skills to support business needs when required

Certification(s) / License(s)
5 GCSE or equivalent qualifications or 7 years' experience working within an Aerospace manufacturing
- Min 5-7 years assembly experience within an engineering manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of industry quality adherence requirements.
- Must be able to demonstrate a high skill set in the use of a variety of power/hand and mechanical tools.
- Must be able to read and successfully interpret complex Engineering Drawings.

- Travel requirement - 10%
- Hours of Work - Standard Hours - 39 hours per week
