Join us as the Lead Auditor & Advisor within Thames Water's small integrated management system (IMS) team. In this role, you will be crucial in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our management systems.

Your primary responsibility will be collaborating with various teams across the business to ensure that all requirements are integrated into our day-to-day operations. Your expertise will also be crucial in consistently meeting our legal and regulatory obligations.

What you'll be doing as an Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Lead Auditor

  • Maintain the external certification of the company management systems.
  • Review and support the development of documented business processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and environmental permit requirements and achieve business plans and regulatory targets.
  • Work with key internal colleagues to identify enhanced integration and improvement areas and ensure compliance with existing processes, procedures, and permit requirements.
  • Provide a lead role in internal audits, including developing the internal audit programme, undertaking internal audits and reporting.
  • Provide a lead role in external audits, including engagement with the external auditor, coordination and briefing of internal stakeholders for audit interviews and site visits and management of non-conformities.
  • Help drive the company to learn from its non-conformances and embed that learning to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage and maintain the management system and action-tracking databases.
  • Help run the annual management review meeting.
  • Provide specialist advice on management systems and deliver awareness training.
  • Support the preparation of ad-hoc regulatory responses relating to the Management System

This role will be hybrid-based at Clearwater Court, Reading. You will be required to work at our offices and sites as the business requires you to

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday; however, we are open to a job share and part-time applications for this role.

Have access to a car and hold a driving licence.

What you should bring to the role

  • STEM-related Degree / or working in a relevant discipline (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of management systems and relevant ISO Standards
  • Background of scoping and delivering internal audits
  • Confident in coordinating and leading external ISO audits
  • Confident in communicating with external and internal stakeholders
  • Support and embed change, influence and drive the right culture and behaviours regardless of seniority or rank
  • Previous experience gained within the water industry or other utilities

  • Competitive salary paying between £43,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
