As they embark on this exciting journey, they are seeking a skilled finance professional to be their first finance hire, supporting the entrepreneurial founders in establishing a robust financial function.
As the first finance hire, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the company. This role is all-encompassing, and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the founders in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy:
- Collaborate with the founders to define and execute the financial strategy of the company.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Financial Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Implement efficient and scalable financial processes and systems.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the development of annual budgets and forecasts in alignment with business goals.
- Monitor and report on budget variances, providing actionable insights.
- Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure the financial health of the company.
- Implement strategies to optimize working capital.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Present financial reports to the leadership team, highlighting key performance indicators.
- Fundraising Support:
- Collaborate with the founders on fundraising activities, providing financial data and analysis for investor presentations.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
- Proven experience in finance roles, preferably in a startup environment.
- Familiarity with financial management in a growth-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
