Job Description

Kent Frozen Foods (part of the Sysco Group) have an exciting opportunity for a part qualified accountant to join the KFF Finance Team as a Management Accountant.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, this is a key role that will be the primary financial controls contact for a variety of different stakeholders across the entire business. You will focus on execution and continuous improvement of financial controls and reporting whilst providing insight and adding value across the team. A key role to ensure all data is accurate for month end reporting.

Sysco has an exciting 5-year growth strategy plan involving some large-scale transformation programmes and projects, so this is a perfect role and business for someone who enjoys working with senior stakeholders whilst also looking to gain exposure and experience in a commercial setting.

We are offering a hybrid working contract with most of your time spent working from home. However, you will be required to attend the office in Aylesford, Kent 1-2 days week, so you must be comfortable and flexible with travel and commuting for project and team meetings.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • To ensure key controls are operating effectively across our finance processes, in particular the integrity of our ERP (Chorus) reporting and reconciliations across our system landscape.
  • Support the month-end close process ensuring results are delivered in line with agreed timeframes and the process is well controlled and efficient, including submission of financial reporting to Sysco Group.
  • Ownership and review of the month end intercompany accounting.
  • Own the balance sheet monthly reconciliation and review process.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the chart of accounts, including the correct set up of new GL accounts as well as month end timetable and ledger controls.
  • Support the external and internal audit processes, ensuring work is delivered on a timely basis.
  • Support the compliance with UK and US regulation and reporting, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Support the implementation of business simplification and continuous improvement of the financial control environment.
  • Support the wider finance team with cross functional projects to deliver systems and process improvements, ensuring a robust platform for the future.

About you:

You'll be part qualified in CIMA, ACA, ACCA, working in a Finance role looking to take the next step in your career. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and commercial environment with strong communication and stakeholder manager skills across all levels. An expert at engaging and motivating others to meet their objectives. You will be an analytical thinker applying logical and methodical approaches to problem solving. This role will suit someone who is able to think outside the box, confident to push back and challenge the status quo where required. A high level of competency in Financial and Management Accounting is essential. Management experience is desirable.
