Junior Treasury Analyst

Our client is an established Crude and Oil Products trading company based in London, with physical assets across Europe. They actively source, refine, market and trade Crude Oil and Oil products, and associated financial derivatives.

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the role requires a treasury operations/payment professional to join the team. The role will initially focus on treasury payments, inputting payments into the company TMS, bank reconciliations etc; before moving on to take on wider treasury analysis and liquidity management responsibilities long term.

The successful candidate will have some treasury related experience and be hungry and eager to learn and continually develop within Treasury.

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • Reconcile assigned bank accounts daily
  • Execute Day-to-Day Cash Management
  • Perform daily cash reporting
  • Monitoring and managing cash flows to ensure there are sufficient funds in bank accounts to make payments in the appropriate currencies and making recommendations to limit currency exposure and reduce transaction costs
  • Resolve queries with Front Office, Operations and Finance
  • Ensure data integrity between the trading and accounting systems, investigating or highlighting exceptions where necessary
  • Production of daily margin call requirements
  • Preparation of weekly payment runs
  • Identifying improvements in current bank and cash management processes in order to streamline and reduce costs.
  • Execute foreign exchange and Money Market deposits
  • Liaising with relevant staff across all locations to ensue bank mandates are maintained and kept up to date
  • Assisting with the annual audit process and responding to queries

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Previous work-based experience of working in Treasury or high-end accounts payable.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to make judgements as to when to challenge current treasury practices to benefit the organisation
  • Strong financial and analytic skills.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and operate in a fast-changing environment.
  • High level of proficiency in excel.
