Engineering Lead | Bristol three days a week | £90-100k
Would you like to take the lead on progressing the platform of a revenue-generating start-up in Bristol?
They operate within the AI sector, with a completely unique product that is revolutionising their industry!
After going live earlier this year, they are now embarking on their next stage of growth as they scale their product.
You'll be very strong technically across the stack, with excellent knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js & React, and the ability to lead a team of 3-4 people.
Day-to-day you'll be managing product work; managing sprints, assigning projects, whilst also dipping into various bits of technical work to support where needed. You'll also line manage the team of 2-4 engineers, supporting their personal & career development.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who has reached that fork in the road between becoming a very senior individual contributor or an engineering manager, but ultimately someone who wants to pursue the latter over the coming years.

What you'll need
- Strong technical expertise across full stack development within JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js & React) - you can lean either way providing you have a deep understanding of complex engineering problems
- Strong knowledge of cloud & DevOps, with the ability to work in a versatile role
- Experienced of leading a small team of engineers, or a strong desire to do so (you don't have to have experience in this area as long as you really want to move in that direction)
- Have a strong product-led focus
- The type of approach to your role where you love to become heavily invested in a product; living & breathing what the company are trying to do for their clients
- Happy to work in a central Bristol office 3 days a week, where you can collaborate with your team, sharing the highs & lows of scaling a start-up!
- Experience in a start-up or changing environment would be advantageous
- Any knowledge of or experience in AI would be a bonus
