Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with a legal background in a Solicitors or Law Firm? If so our client, a fast growing prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join their team in the legal services industry. As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining their reputation and integrity by developing and implementing compliance programs and policies. The candidate will have a strong understanding of legal compliance requirements, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
To be considered for this role you must have previous legal sector experience along with at least 3 years UK based work experience.
The ideal candidate will have
- A solid background in Compliance and Risk within the legal sector
- Knowledge of SRA codes of conduct and regulations
- Knowledge of AML regulations and requirements for law firms
- Experience of working within the legal audit and risk profession
- Experience of being customer facing
- Excellent administration skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You will be responsible for
- Managing compliance inbox
- Advising on all SRA queries
- Advising on GDPR issues
- Supporting the team with maintaining and monitoring regulatory accounts
- Providing necessary training to wider business as and when required
- Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date
- Keeping up to date with current regulations
- Producing weekly/monthly reports
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently working as a Compliance Manager within a Law firm
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within Compliance at mid to senior level
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities to priorities tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team
- High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Solid understanding of the client's business to enable you to suggest improvements to their business and operations
