Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant
Location: Bromley
Start Date: September 2024

About the Role:

A vibrant and inclusive school in Bromley are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sports Coach to join their team full-time starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a Secondary school setting.

This school caters for pupils with SEMH (Social emotional and Mental Health). This is a fantastic opportunity to build close relationships with pupils who come from a variety of backgrounds and situations.

Job Summary: As a Sports Coach, you will have the opportunity to motivate and guide students, helping them to develop their athletic skills, teamwork, and a lifelong love for physical activity.

This School is a Secondary SEN setting catering for pupils with behaviour issues. They are looking for someone to run sports sessions there as a Sports Coach. You will also have to be confident managing behaviour in difficult situations.

Sports Coach Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and varied sports lessons that cater to different skill levels.
  • Provide individual and group coaching to improve students' sports techniques and performance.
  • Organise and lead school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and setting goals for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other staff to integrate physical education into the wider school curriculum.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all sporting activities.

Sports Coach Requirements:

  • Experience as a Sports Coach or in a similar role, ideally within a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for promoting physical health and fitness.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience: There is no level of experience that is required. However it would be beneficial if you had experience supporting pupils that have been excluded or on the verge of exclusion. Alternatively pupils with similar behaviour traits.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about working with children, with a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Knowledge: Understanding of the UK primary school curriculum and the needs of young learners.
