Assistant Accountant
£35,000 - £45,000 + benefits
Reading - Hybrid (3 days in office per week)

The Role
This is a hands on Assistant Accountant role which will be reporting directly into a supportive Financial Controller and will be involved in the following:
- Deliver month end close activities for two small entities
- Support Fixed Asset accounting and control
- Assist with management accounting for specified areas and entities
- Posting of accruals and prepayments
- Posting VAT returns
- Business Partnering internal stakeholders
- Support with AP and AR processing when workloads require
- Prepare and review bank reconcilaitions
- Review and process payment runs
- Provide ad hoc support to payroll
Your Profile
We are looking for a fun and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join a great team.
You'll need a good grasp of double entry and related accounting/reconciliations. There is extensive interaction with the wider business as well so being a people person is essential!
This role would suit someone with prior experience in month end accounting tasks in small to medium sized businesses where you need to roll their sleeves up and help team members across a wide variety of accounting tasks.
Salary & Benefits
£35,000 - £45,000 plus benefits. The business operates a hybrid model with 3 days per week in office. The office has parking on site and good bus links.
