Director of Broker Distribution- Personal Lines: Fantastic, rare opportunity to join Ageas Insurance in the UK as a Director of Broker Distribution, supporting the achievement of the commercial, revenue and business targets through the development and implementation of an effective broker sales and marketing strategy, whilst ensuring that 3rd party relationships are maximised to deliver business performance.

The jobholder will have ownership for developing and improving existing key relationships to maximise financial return; as well as identifying and pursuing new business development opportunities in existing and new segments of the market. They will be accountable for the financial performance of the function within agreed budget and will be expected to contribute to the overall strategy and growth of the Ageas UK business as part of the senior leadership team. This role will be accountable for trading targets and responsible to the overall Broker Distribution target working with their peer Director of Distribution.

The overarching objective is to own, develop and implement a strategic framework for developing relationships with intermediated partners and affinities establishing and nurturing profitable growth partnerships with Ageas UK. This will require the formulation and execution of strategies, and close working relationships with a number of areas both internally and externally. This must ultimately lead to the delivery of the GWP plans for the Intermediated channels of the business.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop, communicate and implement the Broker Distribution strategy across allocated segments to ensure the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, and provide appropriate direction within the function.
  • Deliver the budgeted financial contribution from specified Broker partner contracts, ensuring the achievement of agreed growth and revenue targets.

Account Management

  • Lead and manage specified Broker partner relationships in line with the Ageas UK strategy, meeting all contractual requirements and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Proactively manage the ongoing delivery and continuous improvement of the plans in order to optimise the performance of all account areas, ensuring a positive contribution to the profitability and growth of Ageas UK more broadly.
  • Develop and improve relationships through positive engagement and delivery to become the Broker's insurer of choice, ensuring maximum financial returns.

New Business Development

  • To identify, and enhance relationships relating to identification and targeting of suitable new 3rd party relationships.
  • Work closely with peers to share insights and assist in business development and growth opportunities.
  • Lead the New Business Development activity to win new Broker and Partnership accounts through delivery of market expertise to assist in the shaping of propositions, and relationship development/tender process support as required.

Marketing

  • Development of Broker Marketing strategy to support the objectives of the Broker and Partnership Distribution team. Leading a team of Marketing professionals to deliver market leading marketing activity, events and hospitality

Leadership

  • Functional leadership of own team and matrix leadership where required on projects or cross-functional responsibilities.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of employee capability and engagement through personal development plan progression, coaching and feedback.

Skills and experience:

  • Exensive experience at a senior level across insurance related sectors, ideally within a business development or commercially focused role
  • Experiencing of contributing towards the strategic agenda at senior level
  • Detailed technical understanding of the insurance market, hands on experience of core product development within general insurance.
  • Strong in personal lines trading with knowledge of a wide range of product classes and segments
  • Ability to combine critical analysis and data literacy skills to turn insights into strategic action.
