Workshop Repair Technician / Administrator

Location: Maidenhead

Salary: £25,486 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00 (8.5-hour days)

Holiday: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Our client, a well-established business within the repair and warranty services sector, is seeking a diligent and methodical Workshop Repair Technician / Administrator to join their team. This is a hands-on role, focused on evaluating and processing repair items to ensure they meet both manufacturer standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to emails from clients, consumers, and retailers.
  • Use internal systems to document and maintain accurate service notes.
  • Conduct full assessments of items received for repair to:
  • Verify item authenticity
  • Evaluate repair viability based on manufacturer standards
  • Identify necessary parts and estimated labour time
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to support the call centre team and internal management.
  • Notify workshop supervisors when parts need to be ordered or when stock is low.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed using only genuine parts and approved repair techniques.
  • Follow up and complete repairs that are pending due to part availability.
  • Assess collected items to determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with data protection legislation through sound decision-making.
  • Carry out additional reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors, management, or clients.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Previous experience in a technical assessment or repair environment is highly beneficial.
