Do you have a knack for creating compelling content that informs and engages? Redwood is very excited to be partnering with a London based global professional society, for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and successful planning, to recruit a Managing Editor, to lead the editorial production of their publications: the bi-monthly magazine and the quarterly technical supplement. This role offers hybrid working, with at least one day a week in the London office.

The role of Managing Editor is to produce informative publications that meet the needs of members, and you will work closely with the Graphic Designer and Assistant Editor on the day-to-day operations of these two digital publications, overseen by the Head of Editorial.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and scheduling content
  • Researching and commissioning articles
  • Writing and compiling features
  • Managing approval and sign-off processes
  • Working closely with the Assistant Editor to ensure the publication process runs smoothly and content is of the highest quality
  • Working closely with the Graphic Designer to select artwork and commission cover art for each Journal issue
  • Collaborating with internal departments for timely information delivery
  • Work with the Communications Directorate to ensure consistent messaging
  • Liaise with Editorial Boards to approve articles and plan issues
  • Oversee content uploads and layout updates vis the CMS on the journal website

The ideal candidate will be pro-active with a strong sense of initiative and will be able to hit the ground running. You should enjoy taking sometimes complex, technical content and finding engaging and accessible ways to present it and have a meticulous approach to editing and content quality.

The successful person will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, either B2B or B2C, and will have strong writing, editing and proofreading skills. You will have the ability to conceptualise and plan editorial content, and able to work to multiple deadlines. The ability to collaborate and work closely with the immediate team and other internal departments is essential as is strong attention to detail. A sound knowledge of digital publishing platforms, SEO, CMS and analytics tools is highly desirable for this role.
