As part of the companies planned growth and succession planning for the Head of Finance, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Management Accountant / Finance Manager to operate as the No 2 in Finance.
Working from the offices in Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire this business is easily accessible from across the wider Midlands area and further helped by the company's hybrid working offering.
Overview
Reporting to the Head of Finance and responsible for a variety of financial, analytical and system tasks in support of the Head of Finance and wider team.
This position has 1 direct report (Stock Accountant) and with deputise for the Head of Finance in times of holiday / absence providing leadership across the wider finance team (Purchase / Sales Ledger / Payroll)
Duties
- Ensuring the accuracy of all regular and ad hoc reporting.
- Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts.
- Assist in the production of the quarterly sales forecast.
- Assist in the production of the annual budgets.
- Ensure that purchase order data within the ERP system is maintained and finalised regularly to ensure that the Company's management information is up to date and accurate.
- Take responsibility to ensure that all parts of the ERP system are correct and as expected. To include all accruals, rebates, cubes and all automated and manual reports and processes.
- Ensure accuracy of Direct produce costs versus estimates and rate cards.
- EFC Business Systems champion to work closely with other teams and 3rd parties to ensure systems are operating optimally for all workflows.
- Assist with the governance of both ledgers, ensuring all processes are efficient and meet the requirement of the company.
- Assist in resolution of internal queries and controls.
- Review and re-code General Ledger postings where appropriate in-line with budget and historical expectations.
The ideal candidate will be working towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA Qualification and have the benefit of at least 1-2 years experience in a similar Management Accounting / Analytical biased position
This role is being recruited with succession planning in mind and could be well suited to a candidate wishing to work towards a Head of Finance over the next 3-5 years.

- Actively studying or have a interest in studying towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA (Study Support Given)
- An analytical and intuitive mind with Strong excel skills
- Good communication skills with confidence to business partner with stakeholders across the business
- A good level of IT Literacy is key, knowledge of Power BI or Prophet ERP System is desirable, but not essential
