Sales Manager

SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager to work for a growing manufacturing business in Leicestershire.

As the Sales Manager you will lead a Sales and Customer Service team to develop and implement the strategy required to attract and win new business in target markets on target products in order to grow sales and profitability.

You will have previous experience in managing a successful Sales team ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Your main duties will include

- To develop, communicate, implement, and monitor the Sales and Customer Service strategy required to achieve sales, profit and cash flow targets
- To ensure the departmental resource, skills and experience to enable all aims to be met
- To understand the markets, competitors and products as well as customer needs and buying process in order to define the sales process for winning and retaining target customers
- To lead all sales and customer service activity required to attract and win new business, grow sales and profitability, and promote the brand
- To work closely with the Marketing team to develop and implement lead generation campaigns, to agree customer marketing actions, to agree new product launches and to develop the marketing collateral required to win new business
- To closely manage the leads generation and opportunity management process, continuously growing the pipeline, assuring the robustness of the qualification stage, and increasing conversion rates on target products and customers
- To ensure an effective onboarding process for new customers that achieves customer satisfaction and repeat business
- To regularly visit key customers to ensure that the business remains clear on their requirements
- To ensure that all customer service processes are followed, keeping up to date with the customer service levels required of target customers and working with the rest of the management team to deliver them
- To regularly review customer terms and conditions ensuring they meet the requirements of the business and that customers adhere to them
- To regularly review pricing and costs taking appropriate actions to improve profitability and ensure consistency across markets, including taking responsibility for implementing companywide price increases
- To ensure that the sales forecast is regularly reviewed, that assumptions are documented, and that this is reflected in the sales and operational planning processes, and that customer expectations are managed and met

The main priority of the Sales Manager is to grow sales, so the focus needs to be on ensuring that the team is focused on progressing the opportunities with both existing and new customers. Regular increased customer contact is key as is concentrating on the right type of business (target products and markets), and also being creative to win the orders as once we win them, customers like dealing with us and we have a great back-office support structure to keep customers happy.
