Business Development Manager

Due to business growth our client is looking to recruit an additional Business Development Manager to develop business for their display technology, connectors, printers, fans, and ESD protection products. Ideally they would like some experience in these products.

Your role:

  • Proactively generate new customer prospects and manage accounts throughout the sales cycle.
  • Achieve agreed-upon order generation and development targets annually, meeting Company- defined margins.
  • Attract and cultivate leads, opportunities, and key customer relationships aligned within the company's products and vertical markets.
  • Identify sales opportunities in new and expanding vertical markets.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers/accounts.
  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities within the current customer base.
  • Grow and enhance existing customer base through cross selling and new product introductions.
  • Handle incoming sales inquiries professionally.
  • Maintain customer records, prepare quotations, and generate necessary reports using Company Systems.
  • Create and deliver presentations, literature, and other materials as required.
  • Generate and present monthly sales/orders forecasts to support sales figures and initiatives.
  • Resolve customer issues related to product selection, pricing, and supply.
  • Support marketing and communication activities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers as needed.

The person:

  • Technical or equivalent qualification, bachelor's degree, HNC/HND level or equivalent experience.
  • Previous sales experience in a B2B environment with a proven track record.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant products, applications, and potential customers preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an outgoing and presentable demeanour.
  • Goal-oriented with a drive to succeed and meet targets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in managing sales databases and CRM systems.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of factors affecting company profitability.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven abilities in customer relationship management, target market development, and new business
  • Capable of cross-selling and bundle selling.
