Graduate Finance Assistant

£24,000 - £28,000

Central Woking

We are seeking a bright and ambitious graduate to join our client, a private-equity-backed B2B organisation with significant growth plans. This rapidly expanding company has a track record of success, fuelled by both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

This role reports directly to an experienced Finance Manager, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of finance and accounting. If you're looking for a role where you can develop practical skills, make an impact, and learn in a supportive environment, we encourage you to apply. Prior finance experience is not necessary—just a positive attitude and eagerness to learn!

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Recent graduate (ideally with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field)
  • Ability to commute to Woking town centre
  • Strong Excel and computer skills
  • High emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills

Role Responsibilities

As a Graduate Finance Assistant, you will have the opportunity to learn and take ownership of a variety of finance tasks, including:

  • Coding and processing supplier invoices, ensuring accurate allocation to accounts
  • Clearing the backlog of outstanding invoices, handling preparation and distribution
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Assisting in reviewing and refining invoicing processes for efficiency improvements
  • Supporting the implementation and rollout of a new invoicing system
  • Monitoring and following up on overdue customer payments
  • Preparing weekly and monthly accounts receivable reports for management
  • Collaborating with the finance team to strengthen internal controls and streamline processing

Due to the immediate need for this position, we require candidates who are immediately available. Initially offered as a 3-6 month contract, there is strong potential for this role to develop into a longer-term position.

Salary & Benefits

The salary offered is between £24,000 - £28,000, based on experience and qualifications. This role follows a hybrid working model, with four days per week required in the newly built, central Woking offices.
