TA Thornton Cleveley primary school - FY5

If so, Randstad Education, is currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support a child in Y3 with integration after a 6 week holiday period who suffers with social and emotional anxiety. The hours will steadily increase each week but initially you will be working 9am - 2:45pm with the aim to increase to 8:45-3:30 pm. This pupil currently spends 80% of his time in class but requires some 1:1 periods or escape and fresh air. The role is Monday - Friday.

Our client is a one form entry catholic primary school located in FY5 Thornton Cleveleys. Their school is located behind the beautiful Thornton Church with an easy commute for curriculum content and part of the Blessed Bamber Bridge Multi Academy Trust. This primary caters for Children from Nursery to Year 6 and promotes the 4 C's of life and learning: Catholic, Caring, Compassionate, Courageous. Their grounds are small but inclusive of an outdoor playground, sports area and nature play, they also have access to the local beach.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of resources and activities for the whole class, small group and 1:1 support.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to organise appropriate activities.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
  • Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
  • Monitor and track the development of the pupil In question and support personal development and confidence.

Essential requirements

  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
  • TA qualified.
