Privacy Operations Lead Global

We're now recruiting for an experienced Privacy Operations Lead (Global), to join us on a permanent basis.

Reporting to Willis Towers Watson (WTW) Global Head of Privacy Operations, who is part of the Global Privacy Office (Office of the General Counsel), this position will support the Global Privacy Office on planning, developing, implementing and monitoring global privacy projects and processes that form part of the WTW global privacy programme.

This is a key role within a dynamic environment as it will provide support to the Global Head of Privacy Operations, Country Privacy Officers/DPOs, Privacy Coordinators, legal, compliance, and the business teams globally, to assess and manage privacy risks as well as implement and monitor privacy controls.

This role can be based in either our London, Reigate or Ipswich office, with an element of remote working.

The Role:

  • Keep up to date with privacy developments and regulations
  • Assist in designing and shaping WTW's privacy governance and privacy framework
  • Support the Privacy Counsels, Privacy Operations and Country Privacy Officers/local DPOs with the roll out and implementation of WTW's global privacy programme and the successful delivery of the projects that form part of the wider privacy programme
  • Support and input to the three regional privacy working group calls
  • Assist the privacy function by answering mailbox enquiries, to assist colleagues with privacy questions, as well as provide input to external requirements such as RFPs / RFIs, etc
  • Help manage client audits on co-ordination with DPOs
  • Embed a privacy culture and raise awareness across the business
  • Review and provide advice and support on multi-jurisdictional PSQs, DPIAs, RODPs and DSARs
  • Support the roll out across the business of privacy by design and by default
  • Assist and lead with design and implementations using OneTrust privacy technology tools
  • Work on the issuance of regular reports to track privacy controls and metrics
  • Assist in providing relevant and comprehensive training to business functions
  • Develop relationships across the regions and functions to manage programme interfaces and ultimately ensure a smooth handover to the operational owners of intended projects
  • Create and deliver programme communications for multiple audiences with different needs. That is, transforming technical concepts/language into content which will be understood by different audiences from front line colleagues to leaders in a clear and easy-to-digest format
  • Coordinate the work of privacy operations leads supporting EMEA, APAC and the Americas

Qualifications:

  • Sound privacy operations experience, preferably within insurance or financial services
  • A recognised privacy qualification, such as the IAPP CIPx certifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably in a global or regional privacy environment
  • Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written

The Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of data protection and privacy experience, including experience with GDPR as well as privacy laws in other jurisdictions
  • Experience of embedding privacy strategy and privacy culture into business operations
  • Understanding of privacy and data protection requirements and controls
  • Experience of using OneTrust privacy software tools
  • Proven ability in delivering change projects from initiation to business handover
  • Experience in designing presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and senior stakeholders, delivering key messages concisely
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex projects
  • Experience of having worked in complex and fast-paced environments
  • Experience of working with teams virtually and across multiple time zones e.g. offshore teams
  • Significant experience in use of Microsoft Office application suite with an emphasis on Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
