Test Analyst (Glasgow 2 days per week)

Head Resourcing is excited to partner with a leading UK pensions and mutuals provider. We are seeking a Test Analyst to enhance our software development process with robust test strategies.

Role Overview: The Test Analyst will design, execute, and automate test cases, working closely with project teams to understand system requirements. Responsibilities include defect reporting, documentation, and collaboration with developers and product owners for timely issue resolution. The role also focuses on improving testing processes, tools, and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Framework Mastery:

  • Understand and apply relevant standards, methods, and tools.
  • Engage with business units to ensure effective use of the testing framework.

Tooling and Automation:

  • Use systems and tools to enhance testing efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to optimise automation.

Test Strategy Development:

  • Analyse project requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies.
  • Confirm risk levels with key stakeholders.

Testing Execution:

  • Provide stakeholders with updates on testing efforts, progress, and risks.
  • Conduct tests as per plans and address defects in collaboration with colleagues.

Shift Left Culture:

  • Promote early and efficient testing, reducing manual efforts.
  • Coach teams to adopt a proactive testing mindset.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent is beneficial.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication abilities to report testing progress and issues.
  • Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools.
  • Experience in documenting and tracking defects and collaborating with development teams.
  • Knowledge of test automation tools and performance testing.
