Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £38k to £42k
Hours: Day Shifts 06:00 - 14:00 08:00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Maintenance team in the Manufacturing plant
You will be responsible for Preventative Maintenance & fault finding on production equipment/machines and building services.
We manufacture aluminium honeycomb which is then used in our crash test barriers and composite panels. We also have a machine shop and moulding shop which make the parts for our crash test dummies (also known as ATDs) and Herald Motorcycles.

Key tasks and Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Complete proactive planned mechanical maintenance checks/tasks to schedule and log activity on relevant systems.
  • Complete work requests allocated within agreed timescales.
  • Assist in managing spare parts for all critical plant, working with the maintenance manager and team to establish critical spares required for stock.
  • Respond to production breakdowns, also react to daily concerns and support in getting equipment back in to correct operating condition safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in project works to improve equipment and processes.
  • Assist with updating maintenance documentation SOP's and work instructions.
  • Work in a 5-S' environment.
  • Able to fault find electrically and mechanically when required. Using schematics and other machine literature provided by OEM to rectify any problems with equipment.
  • Assist production teams and modify equipment in order to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and Health & Safety improvements.
  • Install new equipment and services.
  • Work with contactors and assist where needed to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

You will need to have good technical experience in a manufacturing environment. It is also important to have knowledge of quality systems and effective project management; or preparing and controlling programmes of work to effectively carry out the necessary maintenance.
