Working as a supply teacher can help to create long-term opportunities in schools and even lead to ECT mentorship and permanent opportunities in teaching.

Your new role.
Upon registration with Hays, you will have the option of working on day-to-day assignments or long-term placements, making supply a flexible employment option for those with other commitments. We work with schools in St Helens and Warrington, so wherever you live, we have roles available for you. It is commonplace for Instructor roles to result in permanent job offers, making supply a brilliant way of showcasing your talent to local schools and network to expand on your contacts in the local borough. As a Hays Instructor teacher, you will receive a generous daily rate of pay and a range of other benefits. You will go into some schools on a regular supply basis and creat a pool of highly effective teachers who know pupils and what is needed to help them succeed. Consistency in terms of supply work is better for pupils and staff who can work with schools to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.

What you'll need to succeed.

To register with Hays, you must be:

  • Passionate and driven, with a strong desire to be a successful teacher.
  • Have a HLTA qualification or finished your QTS.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have a flexible outlook to work.
  • DBS on the update service is desirable.
