Maintenance Engineer

I am seeking a dedicated Engineer to join an established Maintenance team, working for a leading manufacturer in the Birmingham region. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, a solution-focused mindset, and a drive for continuous improvement across site.

Description

1. Reporting directly to the Engineering manager on a daily basis.

2. Ensure all work practices adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.

3. Must be able to work on own and as part of a team carrying out routine and reactive repair ensuring all deliverable targets are met or exceeded.

4. Responsible for Electrical / Mechanical maintenance on a day to day base on plant equipment and building equipment,

5. To be able to complete electrical installations to the latest regulations within a fast moving factory environment.

6. Perform electrical maintenance to both

7. Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of key automated manufacturing plant equipment.

8. Implement, document and report routine maintenance schedules for both plant and machinery using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

9. To assist all trades within the facility and complete mechanical repairs when required.

10. Completing reactive work orders within time parameters.

11. Proactive problem-solving ability, ability to think objectively through various options and scenarios.

Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:00 Week 1

Monday - Friday 16:00 - 22:00 / Saturday 08:00 - 13:00 Week 2

Profile

You will be an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Technician, ideally with experience in a Manufacturing environment as well as:

  • A recognised Engineering qualification (Level 3 - Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Understanding of Drives & Motors or Pumps
  • Hydraulic & Pneumatics experience is a must
  • Good understanding of electrical controls would be advantageous (PLC systems)
  • Strong understanding of health & safety in a manufacturing environment
