Macildowie are delighted to be working with a fantastic client based in Derby with the appointment of a Buyer within their fast paced procurement team. You will be an integral part of a dynamic procurement team, handling a specific supplier base. Your role includes ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of system data reviews, identifying potential business risks, and creating action plans to mitigate these risks, escalating to the purchasing manager as necessary on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle purchase email enquiries for assigned suppliers.
- Manage and execute MRP messages for designated suppliers promptly.
- Oversee the complete process for Inter-Group Product & Spares Purchases.
- Regularly review inventory, identify risk areas, and take appropriate actions until issues are resolved.
- Synchronise all supplier order books on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate product deliveries with supply partners.
- Ensure supplier price lists are accurately updated on the IFS system in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the supply chain to minimise lead times and inventory levels without increasing business risk.
- Ensure your supplier base complies with quality, service, and best practice standards.
- Conduct weekly meetings with all supply partners and maintain action plans.
- Assist the purchasing administrator when needed.
- Adhere to purchasing procedures.
- Facilitate effective communication across the business and with partners.
- Support the department in various areas as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Possesses excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong negotiation capabilities.
- Exhibits collaborative and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in IT, particularly MS packages and MRP/ERP systems.
- Capable of working independently while being a team player.
- Qualified CIPS or keen on pursuing the qualification.
- Willing to support the department in diverse areas as necessary.
