Project Engineer - Design of Facilities
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £35,720 - £56,850 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

AWE is currently recruiting for an Project Engineer for the Capital Engineering function
As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects with a range of stakeholders to support our critical mission in keeping the Nation safe.
This will include supporting the Engineering Managers to provide facility designs, reviewing engineering requirements and preparing draft specifications and briefs.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
- HNC/HND qualification or a graduate with 2+ years industry experience
- Experience of supporting the delivery of cross-discipline design packages in a multi-discipline environment
- Experience of maintaining design information configuration control for the life of a project
- Experience of supporting Senior Engineers with the delivery of projects, using structured methodologies
- Experience developing and delivering design solutions

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:
- Partnering with Engineering Manager's in assessing the suitability of the facility design for the next phase of the lifecycle (e.g. tender; construction; commissioning; handover)
- Supporting oversight of facility design as it develops via facilitating routine reviews
- Supporting in managing Design Intent and Design Information Configuration from inception through to project handover
- Providing functional support in identifying and implementing change, development and improvement
- Stakeholder engagement
- Gathering data and technical information to support projects
- Acting as first point of contact for technical queries
- Produced draft project governance documents; plans, certificates etc.
You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Important things you need to know:
- You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 2/3days onsite per week.
