Accounts Payable Manager

The Role

We are embarking on an exciting transformation within our Finance function at Holland & Barrett. As our Payables Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of 14, driving efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on our financial operations and work closely with senior management to build a best-in-class service for our suppliers and the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Payables team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions
  • Oversee direct debit payments within guidelines
  • Create and monitor team KPIs to enhance productivity
  • Collaborate with the property team to ensure accurate lease information and payments
  • Approve supplier payments and manage cash flow effectively
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide development opportunities
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and resolve queries promptly
  • Generate regular reports on accounts payable activities and relevant metrics

Location: Based in Nuneaton, this role operates under a hybrid model with 2-3 days per week on-site, supporting flexibility and productivity.

The Person

  • AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification
  • Experience in an Accounts Payable Manager role
  • In-depth knowledge of P2P processes, preferably in a retail context
  • Experience of managing a team, with a focus on development and motivation
  • Excellent communication skills for both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to support and implement process improvements
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
