Your role as Commercial Finance Business partner:

Working closely with the UK finance lead, you shall play a crucial role in the commercial decision making process. With varied duties, this position takes full responsibility for the UK finance commercial function, continually identifying improvements and driving individual and departmental change. Roles and responsibilities are reflective of the effective treatment of IFRS 15 which runs throughout all areas, roles and responsibilities.

Main Role Duties:

  • Responsible for the accurate accounting (including the P&L statement and the balance sheet) for all new machine projects and maintenance contracts to meet group reporting requirements/group accounting policies.
  • Working alongside colleagues to ensure projects are commercially successful and delivered in line within budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate projects provisions are calculated monthly and provisions are calculated in line with IFRS15 accounting guidelines.
  • Ensure Project Trackers are accurate and provide a weekly Contract Summary to the Head of Service Operations, highlighting any important movements and variances.
  • Support the Head of Service Operations and Project Managers financially as needed.
  • Financial Management of Life Cycle Services work including account reconciliation, down payments, and project stage completion, liaising with our Life Cycle Service team as required.
  • Creation of all Sales Orders / Maintenance Contract Sales Orders, with financial oversight of all New Machine project invoices and Purchase Orders.
  • Host and manage the monthly Project Reviews with stakeholders, this includes the preparation of the monthly reporting pack for each project, highlighting any financial threats or opportunities.
  • Host the Monthly Commercial Meeting with stakeholders, to include a summary overview of all ongoing projects.
  • Prepare the quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for Accrued Income, Deferred Income, Advanced Payment Ledgers, and Work in Progress.
  • Responsible for Revenue and Gross profit Budgets and Forecasts.
  • Management / oversight of all third-party PO's along with ensuring the correct treatment of corresponding invoices.
  • Implement process and reporting improvements which drive efficiency by moving manual reporting into software-based solutions.
  • Utilise advanced data analysis techniques to extract insights from financial and operational data, enabling the Finance team to make informed decisions and drive business performance.
  • Line management responsibility for the Commercial Finance Assistant
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required.

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:

To be considered for this role you shall have proven experience as a business partener, with a focus on commercial activity. Qualified Accountant CIMA, ACCA or equivalent you shall have sound project Accounting experience with a strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standard (IFRS 15 preferred). With very strong excel skills / macros / Power BI you shall also be rehearsed in providing detailed analytics and have the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it in a clear and concise manner. With excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy you shall have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of a business.
