Miles Recruitment have been exclusively appointed for an exciting new opportunity of a Mechanical Designer for a long established engineering client based in North Wiltshire.
As a Mechanical Designer, will play a crucial role in providing engineering drawings, designs and development of mechanical components, systems, and assemblies. You will additionally be producing installation, operating and maintenance manuals to meet customers needs and production requirements.
Other main duties as Mechanical Designer include:
- Provide 3D design concepts and planning drawings as required to meet the brief.
- Modify designs/drawings as and when required.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure designs meet project requirements.
- Issue and control of drawings to company procedures, maintenance of filing systems and general office housekeeping.
- Transfer legacy drawings into updated CAD PDM system.
- Control parts identification and BOM compilation, using the companies Supply Chain Management system.
- Check own work for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain an acceptable level of departmental tidiness and organisation
To excel as a Mechanical Designer, it is important you have Mechanical Design experience. Additionally, it is important you are able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Other useful skills include:
- Self motivated and able to work using own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Good IT awareness and competent with 3D CAD systems, such as Autodesk Inventor or similar.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage own workload ensuring targets and objectives are met.
- Understanding of basic electrical concepts in order to facilitate specification and testing of product.
Key information:
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 DoE
Hours: 38 hour week (No shifts)
Holiday: 29 Days (Incl Bank Holidays)
