ETP Business Development

London Stock Exchange is the leading European venue for Exchange Traded Products (ETPs).

Origination, business development, sales, marketing and relationship management for the ETP business is a point of close collaboration between Primary and Secondary Markets teams.

The individual will help develop and promote growth of the ETP franchise and lead account activity with existing and new clients as appropriate, as well as developing new business opportunities from existing LSE and Turquoise member firms.

The role will entail working closely with both the Primary and Secondary Markets teams in new business origination and the delivery of a complete client proposition, whilst maintaining a strong understanding of the changing dynamics of the global execution landscape as a key element to success.

This is a customer centric role within the ETP team and the Markets division.

Role summary:

This individual will lead the client relationships on behalf of the ETP franchise. Taking an active role to drive business development, sales and relationship management with new and existing clients, as appropriate, whilst leading internal partner interests.

The individual will also help the strategic development and incremental growth of the securities trading business through product innovation, geographical expansion and improved functional efficiencies

What you'll be doing:

  • Develops and maintains both internal and external relationships across the ETP industry, including issuers, buyside and sellside.
  • Maintains and increases revenue with customers. Works with the team to define and execute strategic account plans for key clients seeking to improve client relationships and the business generated.
  • Supports the origination of new issuers. Plans, organises, and executes global roadshows to promote the LSEG ETP platform and engage with prospective issuers. Represents the Exchange at industry conferences, events, and meetings to promote our offering.
  • Supports the onboarding of new clients by collaborating with internal teams, including legal, compliance, operations and admissions to ensure a seamless and efficient listing process.
  • Supports Equity Trading colleagues and wider Capital Markets business heads in overall direction, strategy and vision for the equities trading team which includes a range of activities (e.g., product, sales).
  • Work closely with internal partners, particularly in Primary Markets, to improve our ETP offering and open new relationships.
  • Builds demand for products / services, by raising their profile with customers and drive new product sales.
  • Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with our customers' senior leaders to understand their needs, and link them to the organisation's product / service strategies.
  • Produce and write reports based on detailed analysis, and presents findings and recommendations to senior management and external partners.

What you'll bring:

  • 1-3 years of proven ETP experience, amidst broader experience in business development, sales and/or account management within financial markets (investment banks, brokerages or asset management firms).
  • Self-motivated and resilient with the ability to work independently as well as within a wider team.
  • A focus and drive to deliver and outperform on objectives.
  • Must show the ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical business development plans.
  • Good relationship management skills and ability to become an influencer both internally and externally.
  • Commercially focused and highly presentable.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to handle demanding performance targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work with data are a must.
  • Presentation and PowerPoint skills and a level of comfort engaging with an audience.
  • Potential travel required within the UK and internationally
