Legal Secretary - Conveyancing

We are seeking an experienced and detail-orientated Conveyancing Secretary to join our clients dynamic team. Training can be considered for candidates with strong secretarial backgrounds. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to our conveyancing department, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process.

Salary £28,000 to £30,000 negotiable according to experience, parking on site, pension scheme. Hours 9 to 5.30. Monday to Friday 20 days Holiday plus statutory days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist conveyancers with all aspects of residential property transactions.
  • Prepare and manage legal documents, including contracts, forms, and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate records and files, both electronic and paper based.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, estate agents, and other parties involved in the transaction.
  • Conduct property searches and manage deadlines to ensure timely completions.
  • Handle client enquiries and provide updates on the progress of transactions.
  • Organise meetings, appointments, and coordinate schedules for conveyancers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in conveyancing.
  • Familiarity with property law and conveyancing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of local property market and relevant regulations.
  • Experience with land registry and property search software.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
