**Job Summary

:

I am hiring for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to lead a finance team and oversee the financial operations of the organisation. This role will be responsible for managing a team of 5, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, statutory accounting, VAT compliance, and the overall financial integrity of the company. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong leadership abilities and a solid background in financial management and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial statements.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Ensure statutory accounts are prepared and filed accurately and in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP).
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 5 finance professionals, providing guidance and support on all aspects of financial management.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to increase efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in financial reporting and ensure strong internal controls.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong experience with statutory accounting, VAT, and tax compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing month-end close processes and preparing financial statements.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with experience leading a finance team.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
