German Speaking Accounts Payable Officer

Our client is seeking a German Speaking Accounts Payable Officer to join their expanding Transactional Finance Team (hybrid, 3 days in the office 2 days at home).

This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress their finance career within a successful organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely posting and payment of invoices, among other responsibilities.

  • This role is based in Lancashire and requires excellent client and customer service skills, a strong academic record in Finance, and proven experience in an Accounts Payable role as well as the ability to speak fluent German

As a German speaking accounts payable officer, key duties will include:

  • Processing all non-purchase order and purchase order invoices for payment Posting invoices / credit notes per business requests and ensuring they are coded correctly in the accounting system
  • Performing other assigned Accounts Payable tasks of a routine nature under the direction of the Accounts Payable Team Leader
  • Vendor master database maintenance
  • Reconciliation, Payments and Controls
  • Pre-disbursement controls
  • Direct Debit monitoring
  • Balance sheet account reconciliation
  • Preparation of monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • Monitoring of month end activities for accounts payable
  • Pro-active management of supplier accounts and monitoring of ageing
  • Communicating and liaising with suppliers to resolve any invoicing, payment or other queries
  • Monitor AP email inbox / ticketing system
  • Release of payment files, manual ad hoc payments
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Support to clients, vendors
  • Communicating and liaising with suppliers to resolve any invoicing, payment or other queries
  • Cooperation with other departments
  • Liaising with the broader finance team and Team Leader to provide regular updated on daily/weekly and Monthly activities

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Fluent in German
  • Accounts payable/purchase or invoicing experience
  • Profiient in excel
  • Strong inter-personal skills
