Financial Administrator

We are recruiting for a Finance Administrator to work within a small finance department within a large wealth management company based in Moorgate London.

Role overview

Due to the continued growth of the company, the Finance Administrator role has been created to support the increasing needs of the business. The Finance Administrator will report into the Financial Controller and Managing Partners and will be an integral part of the finance team.

The role would be highly suited to an individual with previous accounting or bookkeeping experience seeking a long-term career opportunity at an administrative level. There is no opportunity for career progression within this role and the role will remain at an administrative level, therefore it would be ideal for an individual who is comfortable and has goals in line with this on a long-term basis.

The organisation operates in a highly regulated financial services environment and therefore the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in your work is paramount. A natural ability with numeracy and previous bookkeeping experience is highly advantageous. Where required full training shall be provided.

Role Specification (supporting the Financial Controller)

  • Keeping accurate and up to date records of company purchased business portfolio
  • Processing and recording client transfers
  • Reporting on the financial adviser's client base performance
  • Management of the company adviser codes & commission splits system
  • Accounting data entry using Xero
  • Assisting with payroll function (including both self-employed & PAYE staff)
  • Preparation of monthly non-financial reports management information (management information)
  • Procurement & purchasing function
  • Providing other financial management support as required; such support will include ongoing tasks as well as project-oriented activities.

Person requirements

  • Good GCSE and A Level (or equivalent) results including grade C or above in Maths and English where applicable.
  • Appropriate financial management qualification (academic or professional) highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in an office-based role
  • Basic bookkeeping experience
  • Enjoys working on what can often be laborious and repetitive tasks, whilst continuing to have an eye for detail.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Scrupulous attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when under pressure
  • Good organisation / admin skills
  • Positive, problem-solving mentality
  • Ability to work effectively; independently within a small team
  • Good communication skills - written and oral
  • Strong level of IT literacy - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Resilience and persistent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Additional information

  • Salary £25-40K per annum - dependant on skills and experience
  • Hours of work: Full time, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Moorgate London, EC2V
  • Office based: Initially the role will be office based 5 days a week during training period, however, once fully trained option to work from home 2 set days a week (to be agreed).
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • Pension: Auto-enrolment pension scheme
  • Training: Full training shall be provided
  • Start Date: December 2024 / January 2025
