About the Role
My client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for their Environmental & Housing Property Services team. You will develop contract documentation, procure goods and services, and manage financial aspects of works contracts. This includes preparing interim payments, final accounts, and financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare contract documents and procure goods, services, and works contracts.
- Undertake site measurements and valuations, prepare payment notifications.
- Prepare and agree costs for variations and non-standard work items.
- Produce financial reports for projects and contracts.
- Maintain knowledge of standard methods of measurement and building contracts.
- Assess and present leaseholder contributions and service charges.
- Assist with returns for Government or Regulator requirements.
Interaction and Collaboration
- Work with councillors, senior officers, and housing managers.
- Engage with contractors, consultants, tenants, and leaseholders.
- Participate in relevant professional bodies and stay updated with industry trends.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 2 years in the construction industry with pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
Knowledge
Familiarity with building contracts, budget management, and health and safety legislation.
Education
Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Professional Membership
Membership in RICS is desirable.
Skills
Excellent communication, organizational abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
