Role Overview: They are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Secondary School Exams Officer to join their administrative team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the examinations process, ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of internal and external exams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the planning, administration, and delivery of all internal and external examinations.
  • Liaise with examination boards and ensure compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
  • Manage the registration of students for exams and ensure accurate and timely submission of entries.
  • Organise exam timetables and communicate schedules to staff, students, and parents.
  • Oversee the secure storage and distribution of examination materials.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of invigilators.
  • Ensure the proper conduct of examinations, addressing any issues that arise during the process.
  • Manage the results process, including the receipt and distribution of results to students and staff.
  • Handle any post-examination queries, appeals, and requests for re-marks.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an exams officer or similar administrative role within an educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with staff, students, and external bodies.
  • Proficiency in using examination management software and MS Office applications.
  • A thorough understanding of examination regulations and procedures.

Desirable:

  • Experience in training and managing invigilators.
  • Familiarity with SIMS or other school management information systems.
