Sales Ledger Clerk - 12 Month FTC

We have had an exciting position become available for an up and coming law firm that we are working with in the Solihull town centre.

This role has become available due to a bit of an internal shuffle, one of the businesses Financial Accountants is due to go on Maternity leave soon, as a result the business are eager for people to take a step up internally and as a result of a few internal moves, this Sales Ledger Clerk position has become available.
This role will be working with part of an established and friendly finance team, focusing on Sales Ledger tasks but also supporting with other ad-hoc finance tasks.
At this time this position is a 12 month fixed term contract, however the business are aware that things can change all the time sometime in the next 12 months anything could happen resulting in this position being converted to permanent.

Key responsibilities:

  • Raise sales invoices for the business.
  • Liaising with the internal team to ensure sales invoices are accurate and contain all supporting documentation.
  • Reconciling of the bank statement on a daily basis.
  • Allocating of incoming payments to the bank.
  • Investigating unknown payments into the bank.
  • Reconciling incoming payments against remittances to ensure things are allocated correctly.
  • Assisting with debt chasing, so taking control of the occasional credit control tasks.
  • Resolving queries related to invoices to ensure prompt payment.
  • Generating of aged debtor reports for management, ideally keeping these to 30-60 days as a max.
  • Other ad-hoc finance tasks.

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Have previously worked within a sales ledger role, having experience with:

  • Raising invoices.

  • Bank reconciliations.

  • Cash allocation.

  • Query resolution.

  • Be a big team player, this team are all about knuckling in together to get a job done and they will want someone who is keen to be a part of that team.

  • Need to be immediately available or on a short notice period as this role is looking to begin as soon as possible, to help everyone start stepping up into their new role to train.
