Job Description

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children with disabilities to identify their strengths, challenges, and support needs. Assessments may involve gathering information from the child, their family, schools, healthcare providers, and other relevant sources.
  • Developing and implementing personalised care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each child, based off of assessments.
  • Working closely with families to provide practical guidance, emotional support, and assistance in navigating available resources and entitlements.
  • Advocating for the rights of children with disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to education, healthcare, and social opportunities.
  • Liaising with schools, healthcare professionals, local authorities, and public groups to promote inclusive practices and address any barriers to participation faced by children with disabilities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children and families in a social work setting, for a minimum of three years.
  • A degree in social work with completion of ASYE.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
