About the Role:

Tradewins is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Barnsley who is seeking a dedicated and passionate Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join their DT team in September 2024. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality DT lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Teach across the full age and ability range, ensuring all students make progress.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback that encourages growth.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and industry trends in DT.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary school level.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
