About the Role:
Tradewins is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Barnsley who is seeking a dedicated and passionate Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join their DT team in September 2024. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality DT lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Teach across the full age and ability range, ensuring all students make progress.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback that encourages growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a safe and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and industry trends in DT.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary school level.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
