My client is seeking an HR Business Partner to play a pivotal role in the employee relations area of the organisation. This strategic and operational position involves driving business initiatives and providing client advisory services to ensure effective management and employee relations.

Day to day of the role:

  • Develop and implement people strategies and plans that drive business performance.
  • Provide proactive support in the delivery of HR processes and build strong relationships with key client contacts and their employees.
  • Assess risks and identify gaps in employee relation processes, facilitating the management and internal consultancy team to deliver optimal solutions for employee retention and development.
  • Design key job positions and succession plans, challenge organisational structure, and actively design improvements.
  • Manage sensitive employee, manager, and team issues, building positive employee relations and planning for future change/issues.
  • Review client tasks and suggest proactive, future-thinking projects to prevent issues, resolve problems, and drive team collaboration.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for high-level client queries, recommend solutions to add value, and build relationships across teams.
  • Conduct quarterly review meetings, support and update the organisation on all employee relations matters, and lead and influence change at a strategic level.
  • Head up the operational function within the HR department, providing support and guidance on HR issues including employment legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent HR/people-related qualification or degree.
  • Extensive experience in resolving complex casework problems.
  • Strong background in employee relations with excellent negotiation/mediation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative, team-focused approach, with a curiosity about the work and the clients.
  • Confidence to communicate with and adapt to a broad and diverse client group.
  • Strong interest in people, HR, and employment law with a desire to expand knowledge and develop an HR career.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuously changing priorities.
  • Logical thinking and a pragmatic approach in challenging and diverse situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded with a strong focus on client delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience in an administrative professional environment.
  • Ideally some HR accreditation such as CIPD or Human Resources Management.
